I don't get hired to take headshots very often because I advertise that I shoot on-location using natural lighting. Many people have the preconceived notion that the lack of studio backdrops and lighting precludes getting good headshots and they envision a totally different look of photo from the classic headshot.
However, with a few adjustments, a studio-style portrait is possible ...
The backdrop in these photos is a white tablecloth held by two people. Seriously high-tech. The photos were taken on a patio at the high school on a cloudy day and the lighting is completely natural, using a reflector on the subject's right side.
If you know how to find the light and use it, you'll snag a great shot every time.
Of course, there has to be a couple of outtakes, right?
In favor of my learn purposes, I at all times used to get the video lectures from YouTube, because it is straightforward to fan-out from there Natural Light Headshots - tammycirceophotography .
