The Fremont area of Seattle is a quirky, artsy place. You'll find lots of interesting things just while wandering the sidewalks and people watching is at a premium! One of the quirkier things you'll find in Fremont is under the Aurora Bridge. It's a huge 18-foot tall, 2-ton "great ugly troll, with eyes as big as saucers, and a nose as long as a poker". It is made of concrete, has been there since 1990, and was created by four Seattle sculptors.
We've lived here almost 11 years and although I've driven by the great, ugly troll before, we'd never stopped and certainly had never photographed it ... until now!
If and when you come to Seattle, be sure to see the Fremont Troll. He is having some "cosmetic work" done at the moment, but climbing on him is encouraged and I've read that he loves to be photographed. ;)
Snip, snap, snout.
This tale's told out.
